AI Chat
Takonaut is your AI assistant, available on every page of the app. Click the floating robot icon in the bottom-right corner to open the chat panel. It slides in as an overlay so you can ask questions without leaving your current view.

What Takonaut can help with
Takonaut has full context about your organization’s data. You can ask it about:
- Projects — list your projects, get summaries, or ask about project settings.
- Boards and tasks — find tasks by status, assignee, priority, or keyword.
- Active sprints — check sprint progress, remaining work, or completion rates.
- Users and roles — look up team members, their roles, or who’s assigned to what.
- Epics and roadmap — get an overview of epics, their progress, and dependencies.
- Standups — review standup history, blockers, or team participation.
Ask in plain language. Takonaut interprets your intent and pulls the relevant data from your organization.
Sending messages
Type your message in the input field at the bottom of the chat panel. Press Enter to send. If you need to write a multi-line message, press Shift+Enter to insert a new line without sending.
Takonaut responds in real time, streaming the answer as it generates. You can scroll through the conversation history within the same session.
AI credits
Every message you send consumes credits from your AI wallet. The remaining credit balance is displayed at the bottom of the chat panel so you always know where you stand.
If your balance runs low, Takonaut will remind you about credit usage — often with a bit of personality. You can purchase additional credits or configure your own API key to bypass the credit system entirely. See AI Credits & BYOK for details.
Personality and guardrails
Takonaut is not a generic chatbot. It has a distinct personality — helpful, direct, and occasionally playful. A few things to expect:
- Off-topic messages — if you ask something unrelated to project management, Takonaut will roast you and redirect the conversation.
- Abusive messages — attempts to abuse or jailbreak the assistant are met with a witty shutdown rather than a bland refusal.
- Credit reminders — when your balance is getting low, Takonaut works it into the conversation rather than showing a sterile warning.
The assistant is designed to keep you focused on your work while making the experience enjoyable.
